10. Hasret Kayikci / SC Freiburg
It’s been one hell of a ride for the 26-year-old. After overcoming difficult injuries the striker has reached ultimate strength, was one of the most consistent players at SC Freiburg in 2017, and helped SC stay on top with her goals and assists. She has a great technique and is quick in finding the right solution.
9. Giulia Gwinn / SC Freiburg
One of the most promising talents out there. Five goals, six assists in the current season so far. She is booming in 2017 and has the potential to become a future star.
8. Linda Dallmann / SGS Essen
Dallmann is a playmaker. Her understanding of the game and view has been good for Essen. She can direct her team and play deadly passes. It’s only a matter of time until she will perhaps move to a bigger team and develop even further.
7. Jackie Groenen / FFC Frankfurt
Frankfurt relies a lot on the Dutch International and building a team around her was the goal. Groenen is young but takes on a lot of responsibility in Frankfurt. She is the ultimate key player and responsible for the build up of Frankfurt’s game. She did , however, seem a little fatigued after the EUROs and leaves room for improvement. But she is, without a doubt, one of the top players and one of the reasons why FFC are still a team to fear even though most expected them to struggle after losing a lot of top players prior to the Season.
6. Svenja Huth / Turbine Potsdam
Huth is finally unleashing her full potential at Potsdam. Together with Tabea Kemme she is part of a duo to fear. Ten assists so far in the new season with three goals scored – many more to come. She has a great overview of the game and is hard to defend against with her pace.
5. Tabea Kemme / Turbine Potsdam
Kemme has always been a dangerous player, even when she played in defence. New Potsdam Coach Matthias Rudolph decided to play her up front and it was a decision that paid off. Kemme has since become one of the most dangerous offensive players in the league, with her versatility key to Potsdam’s new road to the top.
4. Lina Magull / SC Freiburg
Magull is the heart of the Freiburg team and a true boss in midfield. She can basically do it all – score, assist and lead the way. Even though she is only 23-years-old, she is already taking on a lot of responsibility at SC Freiburg and is an important part of the positive development that is happening at the club.
3. Ewa Pajor / VfL Wolfsburg
Pajor is undoubtedly one of the most talented players out there and ever since the striker overcame her eye problems, she reached a new level of performance in 2017. The 21-year-old is crucial in front of goal and one of the most important factors in Wolfsburg’s game. Scoring goals as well as assisting them, her pace is the key and her runs initiate a lot of attacks and result in goals being scored.
2. Mandy Islacker / Bayern Munich, FFC Frankfurt
She was the ultimate key player in Frankfurt, scored in almost every league game and became top goal scorer of 2016/2017. And even though she is currently struggling at Bayern slightly, you can’t ignore her coolness in front of goal when she’s 100% on form.
1 Pernille Harder / VfL Wolfsburg
The Danish International had no problem adapting to the Frauen Bundesliga and her new team VfL Wolfsburg, and has become one of the greatest signings of the year – if not the greatest. Since joining the Double winners in January, Harder scored an incredible 19 goals in 23 league games. Her technique and ability to link up with her teammates has taken Wolfsburg’s play to a new level.
